AMAZING NAGA

Tourism is defined as travel for recreationalleisure or business purposes. It has become a popular global leisure activity. A person will be considered a tourist once he/she stayed in places outside his usual environment for not more than one consecutive year.


We all know that Naga City is one of the tourist hot spot in the region because of its unique attractions (man-made and natural) and destinations which interests tourists that's why they always come back in Naga City. Even those persons whose hometown are Naga City and migrated to other places are proud to be called as Nagueños because of the top tourists attractions.

Mainly, churches is the major attractions that can be seen in Naga City.


BASILICA MINORE
It is the home of the Nuestra Señora de Peñafrancia, dearly called by her devotees as “Ina”(Mother). it was constructed on 1981 and was completed in 1985. Millions of devotees around the world visit this church every September to celebrate their faith and devotion to the blessed Virgin.



METROPOLITAN CATHEDRAL

The largest church in Bicol, it is considered to be the mother of all cathedrals in the region.  With  its official name “Naga Metropolitan Cathedral of Saint John the Evangelist”, this cathedral is one of the oldest cathedrals in the Philippines. The original structure was built near the Naga River (the location of Naga’s bustling public market) but was destroyed by a strong earthquake in the 18th century. Every September, during the Peñafrancia Fiesta, the image of Our Lady of Peñafrancia is transferred to the Cathedral from the Basilica Minore


PEÑAFRANCIA SHRINE
It is the original home of the Nuestra Señora de Peñafrancia was made of local materials in 1710 after Fr. Miguel Robles de Covarrubias brought the devotion to Our Lady of Peñafrancia to Bicol. it is located in Peñafrancia Avenue, Naga City.
